What's the Difference Between Narrative and Discourse?
The bible is dominantly a narrative, precisely forty three per cent of it. A narrative meaning there's characters in a setting with the plot line driving the story line forward. Within that narrative are large sections, or some books, that are entirely poetry,. either poetry embedded in narrative, or a whole books of poetry. And then there's alsoa broader category that you could just call discourse, which It's not story telling, it's not poetry, it's just speech.
