Are You at Risk of Breast Cancer?
Only 5 to 10% of all women diagnosed with breast cancer can blame it on their genes. For example, if you carry a Braca 1 mutation, your risk of getting breast cancer is up to 87%. You only need one relative having had breast cancer prior to age 50 or ovarian at any age. If there are any men in the family tree who have had breast cancer, a known genetic mutation carrier should be tested again.
