Sally Kohn: Everything that you are talking about there makes me think about kind of the ideology of silicum valley and how that evolved over the course of many decades. And it tends to be the case that whoever is in control, they build a world that they want. They mirror themselves in the technology,. So it not only is controlled by a certain group, but it mirrors their interests. It means that other people's needs and even needs get written out of the equation and get wholesale ignored.

Paris Marx is joined by Mar Hicks to discuss why we need to know the history of tech and how the British history of sexism and colonialism in computing has lessons for the present-day US tech industry.
