The Defensiveness of the Second World War Generation

I think America, and there is also a defensiveness about the second World War generation. Many heroes, Medal of Honor winners and of the second wars said never would they have done this. So we don't have to defend them by defending the actions of the people who did this. I'm just saying that the presence of nuclear weapons now are weapons of mass destruction so we can throw in biological or chemical in there. Once that Pandora's box gets reopened, how does one even talk about nuclear strategy? Yes. And this is not a war that can be won.
