Where Does This Leave Liz Truss?
There is no obvious outcome which any MPs have been able to point me towards. Senior people in government as well and Downing Street, that's their position. They just don't see an obvious way out. The arrival of Jeremy Hunt as her Chancellor stabilised Liz Truss's position. But the sheer scale of the U-turns day further exacerbates the difficulty of Truss’s position in the long run. Absolutely everything she stood for, everything she stood on the platform of when she won the Conservative leadership contest was essentially undone.
