Mrs. Bennett said she was sick of Mr. Bingley, and asked her husband to make an appointment with him for a fortnight so that they could get to know each other better. When he refused his wife told the girls: 'I will take it on myself' The rest of the evening was spent in conjecturing how soon Mr. Bindley would return Mr. Bennett's visit and determining when they should ask him to dinner.
