Do You Have a Diffuse Mode of Thinking?
You need two types of thinking in terms of it trying to be creative. And that's the focused mode and the diffuse mode of thinking. The deepest kind of thinking is when you have those little aha moments that just seem to come out of nowhere, some people call them shower thoughts because they haven't very often in the shower. So yeah, I think the reason why it happened for you when you were freelancing and for me as well is that it creates a lot of space for that diffuse thinking to happen outside of the focused mode.
