The Love Feast, the Agape Feast
Tertulian, a bishop second century, wrote about his church's weekly gathering. The feast explains itself by its name: "Whatever it costs man ... put it all together, our outlay in the name of piety is gain" This is before government welfare and so the poor would come to the church for food. What does it say about the modern church that we call our weekly time a service? When we come together around a tableas family?
