When Barnes & Noble gave a significant discount for all books that were bestsellers, the focus of book selling became how do I get on the list? Now Amazon doesn't care what kind of book they sell, as long as someone buys one. This means planning six months or a year in advance doesn't matter anymore. Anyone can publish a book and anyone does; you don't even need paper anymore. You just press print, send it to the Kindle, and you're done.
