The Battle of Hralth
William describes basically a boss battle from a video game. In his version, Hregvid was a giant troll and he barely managed to kill it. He kept Hralth's bit where Hregvid called him a capable successor, and worthy of the armor. William laid the armor before King Eric's feet. The king suspected that William was a con man, and not even a good one,. but he couldn't refute the story. So Eric had no choice. William was to marry his sister.
