Congress could not push the vote forward, specifically that gas stove would not get on board. The pistol brace measure got to the Senate and failed this week. Even gas stoves, which is going to pass, was going to get vetoed by Biden. These are messaging bills. So you figure why go through all of this for messaging bills that are just going to die in the Senate? Well, this portion of the party feels that it's necessary. And if it's a matter of either moving the speaker of the house more right, or letting the entire conference knows that they have control with such a very slim margin, then that's what they're doing now.
