The Importance of Self-Protection
The story indicates that this woman's saying, everything's all right. It'll be all right. Why? Because it's just more self-protection. When she finally gets to Elisha, then she finally allows herself to feel. She falls at his feet. And when she says to him, just breaks your heart. How many of us are hesitant to actually enter into joy? We know the day's going to come when the joy ends.
