The novel also does draw its title from that same Hask form, Meditations at Lagunitas. I really do think of it as being charged by my own feelings of homesickness, living away from Australia for the first time. All of the things that are unique about that environment and that landscape, they kind of crystallized for me once they were no longer so present in my everyday.
