The Transition From Investment Banking to Barclays Capital

I've been at Barclays a shockingly long time, much longer than I ever would have expected. And in part because from investment banking, I switched to then credit strategy research. My specialties were bridging the gap between quant and fundamental discretionary investment approaches. And through all of that, eventually it became clear that we needed to do better with data. So working with my boss, we proposed to create this team that would do data science. When did it become clear? Around 2016 or 2017.
