The Greeks Say That They Were Children, but Were They Right?

The ancient barbarian peoples are the source of the sciences, and the Greeks learned them from the barbarians. Pythagoras and Plato are both attested in late antique sources to have travelled to Egypt and studied with the wise men there. There's quite a bit of fascinating evidence that the Greeks thought that some of their religious customs were Egyptian in origin. Both of these ideas will be addressed in more detail later in the podcast.
