Radhika Desai is a political economist and author of the book, Capitalism, Coronavirus, and War. In this discussion we're going to be discussing chapter three of Radhika's book, which is the Geopolitical Economy of Capitalism and Socialism. Ben Norton: You say just as class inequality leads to class struggle within societies, international inequality leads to struggle between nations. If the content of class struggles is the distribution of surplus income and control over social production, that of the international struggle is the international division of labor and the position of various nations in its hierarchy. I want to start specifically looking at uneven development, the way in which capitalism develops different regions of the world
