i built a new machine for upstairs office at home. There wasn't anything wrong with the old one, other than it just wasn't beefy enough to play elden ring. And i had discovered and been frustrated with the fact that canonical had moved fire fox from a proper apt installed, dead package to a snap. On an elderly laptop that joe's wife has, the first start up of fire fox after a cold boot takes forty five seconds. On the same machine, that takes 12 seconds to bring up the fire fox start page on the snap. It's a few mellow seconds.
