The Pacific Islands Youth Fighting Climate Change

This is much more than a historic moment of unity behind these Pacific island states. It reflects a shift in thinking about climate change that has been many years in the making. Palau was attempting to bring a case to the international court of justice, an advisory opinion at the time. But that didn't go ahead because of political pushback from some major players. In 2019, you had the Pacific Islands Youth Fighting Climate Change formed a coalition. And they brought a campaign to the Vanuatu government seeking to reinvigorate this effort.
