Every application that's ever been produced by human hands has a comment in it that says something like, I don't know why this works, but it does. And then three years later, because that developer has moved on to another job, someone else comes along and looks at that comment and says, that should really work. That's why one of the core tenets of ClickOps is lying about doing anything in the console. It's fundamentally hard to recognize the entirety of the potential implications, right, of a decision that you're making.
