Rishi Sunak's Loss to Labour in Selby and Ainssey
The Conservatives have lost two out of three by-elections only holding on to Boris Johnson's old parliamentary seat in Uxbridge and South Rice. Labour's Keir Mather wins the vote in Selby and Ainssey, which is a rural seat in North Yorkshire. The Liberal Democrats managed to overturn a really big Conservative majority of more than 19,000 votes in Somerset and Frome. Sources tell Bloomberg we can expect an election in November 2024 when the government expects that the economy will have turned around.
