The Moderate Intensity Domain and the Maximum Stable State

The moderate intensity domain extends from rest up to the first lactate threshold. The important thing about that domain is that you can achieve a steady state relatively quickly. After two to three minutes, you will achieved a steady state in VO to your heart rate. Then you cross that lactate threshold, you enter the heavy domain and all the other metabolic things we can measure should also achieve a quasi steady state but everything's elevated.
