I think parenting shifted from preparing the kid for the path to preparing the path for the kid, right? Like everyone get out of the way of. And we are teaching kids at a young age when the stakes are ostensibly low, that failure is a bad thing. I always say, you don't want to throw a kid in 10 feet of water if they can't swim. But you better start helping them get into the water there.
