The Rise of Inflation
Inflation has risen steadily since 2005, reaching a 40-year high in 2022. At the same time, real wages adjusted for inflation have only risen slightly. That's led to a growing call to raise the minimum wage from $7.25 to $15 an hour. Congress has debated the issue with proponents arguing it will lift people out of poverty.
