There are individual differences in terms of what we call like tolerance for distress. Some people can maintain a lot of stress and not sort of break. The more you follow negative thoughts down a path, the more likely you are going to get more stressed out. Music affects sub-cortical evolutionary older parts of your brain that are below the cortex.
