CNI 1493 Blocks TNF Production and Cytokine Storm in the Brain
The lead molecule in the screen that year was CNI 1493. We were trying to make a molecule that would block the uptake of arginine into macrophages. And what we didn't expect is that when we put the small amounts of CNI 14 93 into the brain to block cytokines in the brain it also blocked TNF throughout the body.
