Churchill's Apologies for the Barbarians
Early in the book, Churchill hints that England is better off without a papal overseer. But there's more than that here because for the same reason he doesn't want religious rule from abroad. He wants church separated from state. So like from John Paul the second, it's a theme of the papacy religious freedom. There's apologies for violations of it in the history of the church. And that's a great step and a wonderful thing.
