The Resurrection of Jesus Christ Is a Covenantal Function

Paul presents the resurrection in terms of its function and bearing in redemptive history. The empirical and rational facets of the resurrection sub serve a covenantal function, operate in a covenantal framework. Paul's notion of proof, in other words, presents the gospel of Jesus Christ to those in dire need of it. God himself has given proof of final judgment by raising Christ from the death. It is an event to be accepted by faith and in repentance from sin because Christ's death is a death for sin.Christ's resurrection is his vindication as the Messiah.
