God has always done, refusing to force himself on anybody and acquiescing to our ideas about him. Did God choose Saul? Yeah. Why? Because Israel demanded a king. So what did God do? Acquiese to Israel's idea and say if you're going to pick one, there he is. But it's really your idea. Never was my idea. It was your idea. If you're going that route, there's your guy.
