Psychiatry - Is Evil a Concept?

Psychologists don't use the word evil and it has no place in medicine as a concept. Sometimes people are so seriously mentally ill that it would be quite wrong to hold them responsible for what they've done. Our last witness is Tony Maiden, who's a meditist, Professor of Forensic Psychiatry at Imperial College London. He was formerly in charge of the dangerous and severe personality disorder unit at Broadmoor. Tim Stanley: Have you ever met someone who's done something really, really awful? And you've looked at them and just thought, you're just a really wicked person, possibly evil?"Tony Maiden: At that point my involvement as a psychiatrist tends to finish.
