The Differences Between COVID and CDC Death Data

After our last episode, a listener had a question about some discrepancies between the COVID numbers we used and the CDC numbers. I don't have a great answer as to why that is, but I can tell you where I got the numbers and why. We use this dashboard rather than the CDC numbers as it has international data. The delay in getting numbers to WHO from CDC means that we may have slightly more current numbers to CDC, which could be higher or lowerthan those same eventual numbers that make their way to WHO. Otherwise, I think these are both good approximates of what's actually happening in our communities at least in terms of deaths.
