Tuvallu is incredibly remote and only has a tiny port which is unsuitable for large container ships. Almost all manufactured items need to be shipped on small boats all the way from Australia. One of its biggest foreign revenue sources has historically been sending its people to work on ships. Another interesting source of foreign income came about recently, almost entirely by luck.
