Peter Galais: If extinction would mean an end to suffering for all time, is there a case to be made that extinction might be the more moral choice? Sandro Stuckey says if the large-scale structure of the universe arose out of quantum fluctuations near the Big Bang, does that mean there's an infinite number of universes. And if so, what caused the superposition of all these states to deco here? So I want to clean up a couple things here. It's a different quantum state. Not all quantum states are eigenstates.
Welcome to the October 2022 Ask Me Anything episode of Mindscape! These monthly excursions are funded by Patreon supporters (who are also the ones asking the questions). We take questions asked by Patreons, whittle them down to a more manageable number — based primarily on whether I have anything interesting to say about them, not whether the questions themselves are good — and sometimes group them together if they are about a similar topic. Enjoy!
