The Risks of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in Children and the Elderly
Dengue hemorrhagic fever happens when you get infected with a second strain or a different strain than you first were infected with. Is there any partial immunity conferred based on yellow fever if you've been exposed to yellow fever or other flaviviruses? I don't think so. Children and the elderly are more likely to have severe dengue, regardless of number of infection.
