Be Subject for the Lord's Sake
Peter's approach is very similar to paul's. We must place others before ourselves and behave with meekness towards all ultimately, this is for the lord's sake and in obedience to him. Rulers are spoken of as servants of christ, and they must be treated in such a manner. This both under rites their authority and also demystifies their authority. The ruler has been given the task of punishing those who do evil and praising those who do good. They may be unfaithful servants ofchrist, but they are servants none the less.
