Zoroastrianism in Western Esotericism

Zoroaster and Astanis figure prominently in Greek writings as ancient sages of proverbial wisdom. But no student of Western Esotericism really needs to study Zoroastrianism, says Said. The Greeks seem to have loved Zoroaster as a figure of proverbial ancientness and wisdom but they don't seem to have had much interest at all in exploring the beliefs of Zoroaster's Persian followers.
