In January of 58, he put up Explorer 1 and that was Warner von Braun's really initiation into our space race. And continuing on that Sputnik project, put everybody, I mean, everybody was in awe of Russia. Kennedy had just been elected in 1960 and he took office in 61. The only thing Kennedy was thinking of is we got to beat them to the moon. Six months before the decade was out, two people walked on the moon for the first time Apollo 11 mission.
