What Is the Good Life?

As an economist, I've been taught a certain understanding of what the good life is. It comes down to really the anthropology, the nature of the human being and how economists conceive of that person. What the Western church has done is basically adopted what some people call an evangelical Gnosticism. The material isn't really the real thing, the soul is what really matters. There's a better story to live out for all eternity.
