EF6 Provider: Bridges the Gap
The EF team created a.NET standard 2.1 version of the EF6 classic, which means that you can actually run EF6 on.NET Core or.NET 6 or 7 or 8. That code base, that provider is, of course, SQL Server only. And it also still uses the legacy system dataSQL client. So I properties an alternative provider that bridges the gap. It supports always encrypted technology that's come recently with thesql server and new authentication methods like managed identity.
