The Importance of Camera Work in 1934
The film opens quite well with Carlotta Adams doing her impersonation and Lady Edgware approaching Poirot. There's a lot of sparkle to the opening scene, but that sparkle diminishes considerably as the film goes on. This is also one of those cases of an early film that has a noticeable lack of a soundtrack or score. The film ends so abruptly. It really hurdles toward its conclusion.
