Is the New Testament Really Inerrant?
When did Christians begin to believe that the original books of the New Testament were an errant or at least inspired? I definitely don't think the authors of the gospel thought that they were writing inspired scripture. That view of inerrancy, that there's no mistake of any kind, didn't come about until the end of the 19th century. It became a view that was developed in England and then came over to America.
