The Impossibility of Separation
From the smallest flesh no body will be separated, for otherwise there would be a less than the least. Besides in infinite bodies infinite flesh would now be inherent, together with blood and brain, and these would be separated from each other. This however is absurd. It is not sagaciously, though it is rightly asserted by Anaxagris that one thing will never be entirely separated from another. But it is better to assume principles less in number and finite, as empedocles makes them to be.
