The coating allows more minerals to come through at different rates based on howth the fertilizer it is formulated. In a small container, so containers tat are largeb smaller than seven gallons, i've been able to irrigate with zero run off and have successful results. It's just basicallyo give you your fundamental nutrition for the plant. And most people that have a switched over have just been really impressed with it. You can add whatever you want on top of it. I wouldn't stay away from any additional nitrogen, cause there's all the nitrogen you need. But if you don't have the property of that has something to do with genatics, you might not see that
