What Evidence Is There That These Subsidies Just Don't Work?

Governors like ribbon cuttings. They like job announcements. What evidence is there that they, that any of these subsidies pay off? A little to none. In fact, if there's anything that economists famously fractious a bunch agree on is that this stuff just doesn't work. That at least three out of four times subsidies don't change what companies we're going to do anyways.
