Is the Reformation a Confederate Church?

The Reformation never existed as a single, united, cohesive ideological movement. Ulrich Zwingli initiated the Reformed tradition, which would eventually become Calvinism back in 1519. Luther could have negotiated some sort of settlement between the sides that brought both Anabaptist and Lutherans together against the vile potpourri of Rome. Instead he unequivocally sided with both the hated Catholic Church and the nobles in putting down their rebellion in Rotopamplit entitled Against the murderous Theving hordes of peasants.
