Are the Russians in the Odessa Massacre?

Some of the big name commanders with their klickas have actually started to surrender. How did it happen? The russians started using a white phosphorus. And from what i understand, that was a way to make a very horrible death. They're much more useful as martyrs, dead, one by one, than surrendering and being because this war is bad.
