Regulatory Reform in Europe
There is a very complex entanglement between monetary policy, fiscal policy and the planning of financial markets. Complicated int entanglement that benjamin branco argues confers infra structural power to private finance makes it very difficult to arrive at meaningful regulatory reform. And and that is quite a difficult political challenge, i think. So then we have second order kind of solutions that say, ok, regulate global acid managers like black rock as systemic financial institutions try to find their hidden leverage. We had all this after two thousand and eight but they were watered down very quickly.
