How to Discern if a File Is Not Real
metadata is data about data. If you look at the metadata from thousands of files that get released from some target, and there's a couple of files that are not consistent with what you would expect to be real, then you can start to use that to make the case that this is clearly not really part of this data leak. But it is a huge challenge and I think the bigger concern too is that it takes a lot of time to be able to demonstrate that. And when that information is breaking in a news cycle, you don't have time.
