The main aims of the socialism movement at this point was to abolish the employer-employee relationship and the landlord-tenant relationship. Different socialists had different ideas about how politics and property should be managed. But all of the main strains of socialism agreed that wage labor should be abolished, and any property that many people depended on needed to be controlled by workers and consumers.
