I think we if we took lessons from the Soviet experience in Afghanistan in early early 2001 early 2002 time frame we took some of the wrong lessons it seems on our side of the house. We didn't flood Afghanistan when we needed to in the beginning to prevent an escape of bin Laden in Torobora where we needed more troops not at the levels the Soviets had but certainly not even at the levels that we we got now. There was a lot of discussion in 2001 about what do the Soviets do and what do they do wrong and what can we learn from that, he says.
