The Total Spending on Defense Contractors Over the Past 20 Years

The total amount of money spent on private sector defense contractors over the past 20 years is seven point three trillion dollars. Overwhelmingly, that comes from pentagon. A lot of that wound up contributing to lockyed martin's share price which went up ten times in a year. When we talk about, we can't spend three trillion dollars on giving people dental care, in their medicare benefits and paid leave for new mothers, but we can waste trillions of dollars on losing a war that leaves the people in the country worse off than where they started.
